Airport Police Pink Patch initiative raises $3,000 for fight against breast cancer

Representatives of the MSP Airport Police Department (APD) presented a $3,000 check to the American Cancer Society in Eagan, Minn. on Friday, Nov. 17. The APD was one of 12 agencies participating in the Minnesota Pink Patch initiative that presented a combined total of almost $30,000 to the cause.

APD funds were generated through public and internal sales of a bright pink patch that officers had the opportunity to purchase and wear in place of their standard shoulder patches during October.

This is the APD’s second year participating in the fundraising effort. An APD civilian patch was also created and offered for sale to civilian staff and the public to show their support. More than 350 police and civilian patches were sold!

The Pink Patch Project is a nationwide effort to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and support breast cancer research organizations.

Congratulations to all who helped support a worthy cause!
